Unlike 35mm photo negatives, these don’t generate a thumbnail preview in the application, so I can’t use Thumbnail mode and scanning does take longer. I have to manually crop each image with a computer tool; otherwise, parts of multiple images get combined in a single scan. That’s why the cost is different between the two
